My name is Cameron Trotter, and I am a Machine Learning Research Scientist at the British Antarctic Survey. My research focusses on the automation of benthic image analysis.

Prior to this, I completed my PhD at Newcastle University, working within the Cloud Computing for Big Data CDT, an EPSRC funded research group. My research focused on utilising computer vision and deep learning to aid cetacean conservation efforts in the North Sea. For a breakdown of my PhD, please see the PhD page. For a full breakdown of my education history please see the Education page.

I also have experience of applying computer vision to industry, with a focus on retail fashion. Please see the Experience page for more details.
